ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL EMERGENCY RELIEF

ESSER funds are federal stimulus monies made available to schools.  ESSER III funds were made available on April 28, 2021 and should be used to respond to the pandemic and to address student learning loss as a result of COVID-19.  TEA published guidance regarding how ESSER funds can be used.  These funds are designated for one-time or short-term expenditures and must be spent over a three year period.  The total amount of ESSER III funding Chisum is eligible for is $2,749,535.00.  Chisum ISD intends to apply for the ESSER III funds and seeks input from staff, students, parents, and community members about where to allocate the funds through several public meetings.  Meeting dates are:  May 19th, May 21st, June 14th, and July 19th.
