RE: HEAT STRESS AND ATHLETIC PARTICIPATION

Dear CISD Parents/Guardians,

The Texas weather is bearing down with record setting temperatures, and we need your help to
ensure that our students are staying well hydrated for upcoming games, activities and
performances. Along with every other public school in Texas, we too are following the
guidelines for heat stress and athletic participation provided by the UIL. Please review
information offered by the University Interscholastic League at the website provided below with
your student at your earliest convenience. Chisum ISD has made plans to provide water on the
field for athletes, student trainers and cheerleaders to use as needed. Band students will also
have water available in the stands and on the sideline for use during or immediately following
performances. We need your help in ensuring that students are adequately hydrating at home
prior to attending school. The safety of our student athletes and performers is our top priority
and by working together we will continue to keep our students safe, healthy and doing what they
love.
